The Abuser Intervention 20-hour Training is offered twice a year at South Suburban Family Shelter. This training is designed for those working with domestic violence offenders.
The topics covered include history of partner abuse intervention programs in Illinois, intervention models, implementing a curriculum and group dynamics.
Participants can expect to learn best practices, facilitating groups and the role of a facilitator. Completion of the 20-hour training is required for those
working with domestic violence perpetrators. CEUs are available for counseling, social work and domestic violence professionals. The cost of the training is $125.00
