Abuser Intervention Facilitator 20-Hour Training The Abuser Intervention 20-hour Training is offered twice a year at South Suburban Family Shelter. This training is designed for those interested in working with domestic violence offenders or professionals in the field. The topics covered include a history of partner abuse intervention programs in Illinois, intervention models, implementing a curriculum and group dynamics. Participants can expect to learn best practices in co-facilitation of groups and the role of a facilitator. Completion of the 20-hour training is required for those working with domestic violence perpetrators. SSFS is a recognized 20-hour training site by the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional Board.

January 4, 2011 or training is full. Space is limited, register early. SSFS is a licensed continuing education unit (CEU) sponsor for social
